Withdrawn Pre-tour sale: Marin, Shimano, Araya

Retro Newbie
I'm using my 1992 Marin Pine mountain for an upcoming 1 year tour which has meant replacing some bits I don't have room to store!

All in really good nick: I bought the bike a year or so ago and it hadn't been used for more than about 500km and I've probably added 1-1500 more since.

Pick-up in Richmond, London preferred but I'm happy to figure out how to post stuff for let's say £5 per delivery?

Happy to split things in different ways if you want.

1. Marin lite stem and bars with original grips, bar ends and Tioga power studs 3. Usual wear and tear but really good from in general: £45

2. (Tyre not included I just lost my tyre levers today!) Araya RM-17 rims with Shimano deore-dx hubs and original hyperglide cassette. Skewers included, loads of life left in both rims, free hub in great condition, running straight and true. Cassette barely looks used: £60

3. Shimano Deore XT M735 rear mech. Medium (I think) cage. Good condition. Original wheels etc. Should clean up nice: £30

Looks like I'm unable to DM you until I've got 30 posts (
Recent change in the conditions. As above, you have to reach the target figure of 30 posts before you can send a private message. However, quite often there is an email tab next to the profile tab. If the person who you wish to contact has this, then this could well be your only way to message privately until pm function is enabled.
Hope this helps you out....
)
Not sure of the appropriate etiquette here to achieve 30 posts without randomly spamming somewhere - but then I suppose a bit of back and forth on shipping costs and options might up the post count appropriately...

Thanks for asking (seriously). We like users' posts to be "organic" rather than spamming threads. The 30 post count is so we can get an idea that someone has a genuine interest and isn't out to rip people off, which is sadly quite common these days.

It makes perfect sense (sad indeed, would saying bring back the 90's date me badly?) - though I couldn't find the 30 post requirement on the wiki - had to resort to google to get the answer.

Will continue to browse a) just for the sheer nostalgia,
b) I'd probably have been able to get answers to a whole bunch of what parts would be compatable with... questions and
c) I'd still like a spare set of RM-17s on DX
You never know, I may reach the 30 post goal entirely spam free! :-)

I'd say bring back the late 80's, so it's all good!

You can still receive and reply to PMs, just not start the conversation yourself. Many members will PM you if you post in their thread and ask them to, especially if they search through your limited number of posts and see that they are on topic :)
