Picture don't really show much but is it not just a standard air shock with a small metal bar (Shape probably copied from the original coil) joining the shock to the chainstay?

looks like it might be...
must have some sort of mod on the join between the two though or the shock / extra bar would run the risk of folding as the join effectivley becomes another pivot point.

It does look like it but you'd really hope it wasn't as the one thing air shocks really don't like is side to side movement or the slider going in at anything other than perfectly straight. BUt if you look at the hex bolt holding the shock in it all looks a little mickey mouse!
