Possible Chain Reaction Cycles card fraud

Cheers for the heads up. Only takes one guy with access to make off with some of the database and a shops reputation is borked.

Thankfully I paid by PayPal last week for the stuff I got...

I had an argument once with the manager of Maplin after I refused to give my full address for a refund. She insisted it's company policy and the details will go no further than the computer in the shop. She just couldnt see the problem of having card details and addresses on a computer in plain view of all staff, or the potential of the computer itself being stolen.

If the CRC payment system adhered to the latest PCI security standards, all the card nos etc should be encrypted and not visible.

Therefore, even if someone did nick the PC etc, they wouldn't be able to access the data.

Me too. Two payments, each of £15 with O2 requested by the frausters. Fortunately, Barclaycard picked it up, checked with me, and stopped the payments and my card all the same day. 3 days later I had a new card. So, some credit to Barclaycard.

yup, same with me £30 on O2.

Will be contacting CRC about this as really could have done without my acct being frozen and card stopped today.

why do they keep going for credit on 02?
i know its a tester but nothing seems to be happening after that?
