There has been a lot of waspyness recently (perhaps it's the heat) which has detracted from original post subjects, so should the above be avoided or should we be allowed to talk about anything in general and off topic chat.

If the powers that be said to me , no more politics or religion I would respect that, but politics play a huge part in our lives, as does religion for some people.

indeed i never done one before, filled out boxes but nothing come up...ok people can just say yes or no and give their reasons, might be better that way. Can't people just keep pushing the button and give a false poll anyway ? I don't mind counting yes/no.

I'd have to say no.

It may be off topic but countless previous threads have shown that it almost always turns into biased, ill informed biggoted drivel closely followed by the same few having a dig at each other.

 little un-pc their. But i like it

I say let people discuss this sort of thing, if they want.

Sometimes there can be clear crossovers - like the woodlands being sold-off thing.

Here's the thing, though - nobody is forced to read it - so it's hardly imposed on anybody. People clearly do read these sorts of threads, though, then moan about it - or how it's ended up - how redundant is that?

Disagreement and debate is largely a good thing - there's nothing more boring than everybody agreeing on a subject.
