Polishing

Hi Everyone,

I want to get my new toy ( Pace RC200 F3 ) polished to make it like new again. I've been in touch with Pace regarding the decal kit for it but I would like to know do people just get their frames polished or do they have them lacquered as we & if so do you lacquer over the decals ?

i would strongly advise against lacquer as moisture will penetrate it at some point and turn the alloy underneath white. you would then have to strip and repolish it to restore the shine.

leaving it bare is higher maintenance but at least it can be repolished easily.

if you must lacquer it, have a word with a wheel refurbisher (pm me if you like) as there are lacquers now available which will key to polished surfaces.

if you leave it bare then wax it to protect it.

i use rimwax on bare alloy wheels. the pasty stuff in a tub is far better than the liquid stuff in a spray.
