Police Harassment!

Third time in four days I have been asked what I am 'doing', whilst standing on my phone with my pooches running around on waste ground.

This time I donned a pretty convincing Irish accent and told them I was looking to see how to get the vans around the gates.

At least they have a sense of humour.

A few years ago they stopped my Sprinter as I was carrying back a huge shed we had cut into sections on site, and they chatted to me and my mate from Manchester, Between us, on the seat open and in plain view was a tool bag stuffed with wrecking bars and such.

They told us they were searching for some 'lads in a van' after a series of burglaries. Didn't even look in the back of the van, after they sussed I was local.

Thank goodness on a human level the boys still trust their instincts and don't assume everyone is a 'wrong un'.

But why me? Is it because I is driving a Transit now?

:)

Some simple instructions to follow.

Re:

This year I've yet to see a plod not in a car, let alone speak to one.
I tell a lie; I had a brief chat with a Nissan full while they protected the local Hunt as it went about it's unlawful business.
They're losing it, they really are!

Re:

Dyna has it right. I know there are good ones around (I know some personally) but you can't take that chance - I also know there are plenty who couldn't care less about right and wrong and will cheat, lie and misreport, misrepresent and twist every word you say so that it means something completely different on their records.

It's safest to keep your mouth shut and keep as much distance from them as you can no matter how innocent you may be. There's nothing quite like having a little bit of involvement with the police to have your confidence in them cured...

So if you see any, your advice is to shout "Scarper!" and run like buggery?
