Please help me identify what model my Orange is!

Retro Newbie
Hi everyone, I recently picked up this beast from a friend who had left this poor thing in his garden for years and now I plan to get her going again.
I looked through all of Orange's old catalogues on here and I can't seem to find a one that matches up completely, I have a suspicion it's an aluminium elite...
It's groupset it Shimano STX RC, which I thought Orange only put on their bikes 1996+, but the bike has the old style no seatclamp; just a bolt.

The pedals, grips, seatpost and saddle are all not original but I'm 95% that everything else is.

Please help me identify this mysterious steed!
Cheers guys, will be posting pics of my all black Orange O2 once I've finished building it.

Re:

Can't see any pics!

Load the pictures up to Photobucket or something similar, and post the links.

Re:

No major mystery there.

Its a Clockwork or C16R - not entirely sure which.

Deffo not even Aluminium let alone an Elite.

Dead give away is the C on the orange head badge. Think the C16R had C16R on the headbadge - which leads me towards late model clockwork - probably from around 95 which was the transition year to C16R.

Other give away is the rear brake bridge stop - those were only ever on the steel oranges.

Earlier model clocky's had a different rear stop.

All subject to one of the RB Orange gods contradicting me of course ;)

Grey with turquoise corners, Steel frame of the Clockwork /C16 1993/4 era. decals probably original dating it to that era.

Serial number should confirm this too. (hopefully)

Edit:/
But anyway it's one of these.

You need to derestrict the sharing policies for the picture/album, that's the problem I think.

STX-RC started in 1995, so could either have bought a reduced frame with newer parts on it.

Re:

As said, paint job is from 1993/4 but rims point towards 1994 as in 93 they still had Mavic 231's. Shifters are not original so other parts may not be.

Re:

Cheers everyone! Thanks for the clear and speedy replies! Not a mystery at all it seems then!
A 93/94 clockwork, maybe a budget/clearance build from Orange in 1995 (just going by the front Orange Rim, still built onto an stx rc hub)..?

I think I'm gonna strip her down and get her resprayed in white when I have access to a clean dust free studio space in September.
Until then I'll just get my O2 finished, I'll put a link up here tomorrow once I've made a thread/took some decent pictures.
Cheers for the help everyone!
