Guys... I have been searching for ages but probably not in the right places and even my local bike shop just went "oooo you might have to leave it with us....." I need the bottom bracket size for my 1992 purple Kona Lava Dome Joe Murray. Unfortunately only the frame is the original bit as it was given to me by a friend after I snapped my previous one. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated as my existing one is making some clicks and bangs. I cant take it out to check its size as I dont have the tools as im away from home and I can not get the pedal arms off for love nor money. They are fully threaded and no end of riding without the bolts in, just will not drop them off. I intend to buy a new BB and crank and then and only then will I hacksaw the old arm and crank off and let the shop fit the new bits.
Many Thanks Guys hope someone can help.

Dodge, dont hang that orrible chunk or iron on a kona, find something nicer and better and more in keeping with the bike through the site, look for something LX or above and 5 arm, plenty about

dont worry too much about the bottom bracket either if your having the shop fit it, they should have a selection of un54 bb, nowt special but good enough, and will fit the correct size for you
just my views,   8)

Cheers... I have just purchased and LX crankset. The frame is not in good condition but your right and I just couldnt bring myself to buy that hunk of junk. Never the less I still love the bike dearly and have no intentions of updating it just yet. When it gets here Ill let the shop sort the BB and fitting.
Thanks you 2.
Dodge.
