Congrats on the find, if not for the frame, for all of that amazing kit. Waterford Cycles is the "keeper of the flame" for all things Schwinn Paramount. They have some history, serial number database and a owner's registry.

I am a huge fan of the Paramount but only the one's built at the Schwinn factory in Chicago from about 1958 to 1980. The PDG, or Paramount Design Group, frames were largely built in Japan but a few may have been brazed at the Waterford site. At any rate a cyclocross frame is very unique and as such may have been handmade in the USA.

After some further poking around I can not find any evidence that Schwinn made a PDG series cyclocross bike. The lugs on your frame look very similar to PDG frames, that coupled with the brake bridge that clearly is drilled for a brake and the narrow clearance leads me to believe this frame has had the V brake bosses added. Also the lack of a cable hanger in the back supports this assumption as the PDG series bikes ended in 94 which was just before V brakes became popular.

Thanks for the info. I'm pretty sure the bosses were added as well.
Best I came up with so far is most likely an overseas PDG from '92.
As I'm more of a mountain rider and just looking for something to ride
when the trails are too mucked up, this works for me. Probably a rare bird with
the late addition of the bosses, but not really a diamond in the rough either.
Now on to investigate the saddle, one of my mates seems to think that may be a
rarity.

Cheers
