I seem to remember being a bit worse for wear this trip (makes a change for my Italian missions)* but the thing i remember thinking on arrival and subsequent immediate lunch outing, was how the cycle industry's bosses either seem to drive Audi A6 estates or Panameras. It's always what seems to whisk you off to lunch. Anyway...

Here's today's hard drive trawl as I try and make sense of my archive and build a new website here in hospital while I haven't actually any hope of any new imagery for an age yet. Alessandro Basso and his family business started in the 70s, building top notch road racing frames.

*collapsing on Colnago's marble museum floor, knocking myself out cold mid Giordana catalogue shoot, arriving at dear pals Rocket Espresso and Crisp Ti with flu and spendinf the next few days on the sofa - the same as i did at Campag once!) It's a theme now.

Thank you.

Yes, I am a photographer and occasional writer in cycling. So have been really lucky to see inside many of these churches, meet great people and often make truly great friends as cycling is a family rather than an industry in many respects.

So whenever I go to a factory etc, I always have in mind anything RB would like to see aside from whatever the magazine or cycle company is wanting to look at.

:D
