Phone unlocking?

Old School Grand Master
My phone has hit the fan..well several other things as well and being a tight git I didn't choose insurance so with the contract still open I've decided to dig out my old hardly used nokia n70

turns out that they can't be unlocked by the old way of tapping in a code but have to be computer unlocked..anyone had any bad/good exeriences in doing this?

I've taken a couple of newer Nokias n85 & e61 to be unlocked at a local phone shop. They had to hook it up to a computer / hardware box thing but it clearly worked. If you have such a shop near you suggest you pop down and ask.

Thanks for the input chaps

I did read that the n70 had to be cable unlocked due to it's bb5 set up so I have one or two shops who can do this so will find out the cost...too much and the turbo sim maybe on it's way to me..cheers

okay popped to the shops..bb5 is old agreed and cost 10 quid to unlock and debrand so not to bad

but now I know about the turbo sim I'll buy one of those too just in case I get tempted by another

ta all

no problem

yeah thats about right
it feels 'cleaner' than a turbo sim
if that makes sense

but either/either really isnt it

glad your sorted
