Retro Newbie
Hello,

I'm new here as a member but I've been reader for a long time.

My last last project it's a Peugeot Pro Team VTT from 1991, and I thought some people here will apreciate a bike like this. My goal wasn't to build a period correct bike, just a beautiful and classy MTB that I can use on my off-road rides.

You can see some pictures of it on my Flickr: https://flic.kr/s/aHskc4mnj5

Thanks!
It's a lovely ride, very comfortable and classy.
I did more than 55 km last weekend, full of dust now and a broken spoke :)

Re:

Hi mate
In my honest opinion , is a nice bike and you did a good job :D
Frame is immaculate , classic color matches wih the geometry . Nice bike !

Thanks Retrobike fan.
It's not a period correct build but it was not the goal. I want the bike to use it as much as I can and I am very happy with the result. Looking forward to ride it again!!
Regards

PS let me know when you get yours finished

Thanks Coleman, I still don't know how to post pictures...

Yes, welding is quite neat. It's a rare type of internal welding, called direct brazing system:
"The frames used Peugeot's DBS (Direct Brazing System) process, whereby a ring of brazing material was inserted inside the frame tubes, prior to heating. This created a joint with a large internal fillet and a small external fillet. According to Peugeot's advertising, this joint was a strong as lugged and produced a lighter frame"

Click on the pic in flickr, select 'share', copy the BBC code into your post and it will appear...

Cheers for the info on the joint :D
