Wanted peugeot mid 80s threaded fork

bold stelvis

Kona Fan
looking for a 1 inch threaded fork to replace a slightly damaged one on a recent 1984 PGN10 purchase (previous user has jammed a 22.2 stem into the french 22.0 inner diameter hole and its deformed the steerer tube enough to make setting the headset correctly impossible)

willing to consider anything that will be a suitable replacement, but would prefer an original Peugeot item if possible
Reynolds (501 or 531) if possible (original bike fork is 501)
chromed preferable to match the original spec but not vital
I'm gonna replace the headset anyway so french or english threading should be fine
need at least 18cm (inc threaded portion) steerer tube

Got a 653 chrome fork here. It has pitting but it's straight. The steerer is 190mm long with approx 20mm threaded steerer. Campag dropouts.

thanks for digging out the pics for me!
shape look quite nice under the surface corrosion :)
Turns out I may have been a bit hasty (fatal diagnosis of my issue was premature) but just in case it stands and I'm still needing a set

could you measure the axle to bottom of crown race?
what would you be after in terms of mullah?

Approx 36.5cm

£35 plus postage do you? I reckon it'll be around £4 with evri

mm - might be too tight on clearance (I'm guessing these are maybe slightly later period from the style - late 80s, early 90s? - when manufacturers started to close up dimensions for short reach callipers)

I guess I need something closer to 385mm to keep the stance of the bike and the tyre clearances I have now ( even though its s racer it will currently easily take 32mm tyres and maybe even 35)

thanks a ton for the effort anyway!

actually let me revise that figure - 375mm-ish to crown race, 355mm to underside of crown (around 51mm brake reach)
so not quite so far away as I thought - do you happen to know what tyres will fit comfortably?. want to keep 32mm clearance at least

30mm fits fine!

thanks for checking for me!
from your photo I'm guessing its about 10mm or so tighter on clearance all round (which would make sense from your initial axle to crown measurement)

As mentioned I'm currently not 100% sure whats going on with the OG fork - I seemed to manage to get the headset set more or less correctly yesterday (after about the 5th round of pulling it apart and sticking it back together) and in talks with the seller (who give him his due got back to me very quickly, if slightly annoyed!) - but there is still evidence that somethings not quite right, or been not quite right at some point. I'm gonna see how this pans out over the next week or so, but yours could be a potential back up if I need it.

thanks again!
