I heard a very interesting rumour that the frames used by the Peugeot race team in the early 90s were in fact Chas Roberts frames branded up as Peugeot Team frames.

Not a rumour, it's true! They used White Spider frames...

The stock Peugeot frames continually fell short of the mark, and both David Baker and Tim Gould wanted Roberts Frames, it was agreed but of course had to be painted in the Peugeot Livery.

hi looks like a model for the dutch market, the shop i worked for used to stock a similar model in a different colour scheme bitd. in the late 90s we were offered lots of non catalogue Peugeot models from cycle Europe im sure it was to just clear their excess stock but you got a lot of bike for the money

Well it arrived today and...
The forks and stem are trash... the bars are nice very light at 120g
The frame itself is in lovely condition aprt from a few rashes in places, but the B.B. and head tube are mint and no rust where I’d expect to see it.
However it’s a wee bit heavy for my project at 2.1kg with (headset cups) so I may pass it on or built it as an excercise....(would be my first attempt!)

So anyway, I’m going ahead with the build. It’s not going to be sympathetic just using odds and ends I’ve got around and some idea of what I want it to look like in my mind...

Anyway here are the basics... I need a stem adaptor, some new 1” forks, top pull derailleur as I bought a bottom pull, a new red Seatpost clamp, deore thumbies, any canti brake levers, oh and shiny new cables... the rest I’ve got.....
