Pedalo channel crossing

i love random crazy stuff like this mate its what i like :D 8)

i think this should be more than just an idea though it is poss with the right backing

Its a shame that so many laws and regulations are in place to stop random acts of madness like this are spawned

I know how you feel about getting backing from friends,
One of my chums lost his battle with cancer this year and we decided to run the marathon, I got more backing & sponsorship from members of this site than I did from work collegues!! (this is an awesome place)

I would jump at the chance to do this with you mate 8)

Gc

I'd happily watch from dry land and call the coastguard when you sink after the bow wave of a bulk carrier hits you

Once I was in Hastings and remarked to a local, I'didn't know there were any big islands in the channel in this stretch, they laughed and said its not an island its a ship

Make sure you don't do a Flintoff though..well, at least till you get to the other side :D

I'm recommending against this on the grounds of safety
The channel is on of the busiest shipping areas on the planet, they move at up to 30/kph and cannot stop too easily or for that matter turn too well.Pedalos are too small to see,and cannot travel very fast,so the chances of being run down and drowned are high
You would need to alert all the authorities, have a support crew and support boat, [at least one of them possibly two].

Chances are it would mean you will be pedaling in the dark as it cannot move very fast and negotiating on the water in the dark in a very small unlit boat, is incredibly dangerous
