Pedal dilemma (modern content)

I have had enough of the endless rebuilds required to keep CB Eggbeaters, and related pedals, running. However re-equipping 3 bikes with new pedals is not going to be cheap. Can't use Shimano for knee reasons and have used Time in the past with good results but has anyone here tried the Look Quartz pedals?

Can't you buy dfferent shoe cleats for shimano that give more float? There used to be an option. Assuming that's the fix to your problem.

I do not believe that they do. Just the basic 5 degrees or thereabouts.
