Payment from overseas buyers to Australia – options?

I’m looking at selling some parts mainly to get rid of some clutter (and to buy bloody expensive text books for uni). I want to sell the parts through this site before I go to eBay, I just want to get fair market value, and the parts to go to someone who appreciates them, not the madness that eBay can sometimes become.

The thing is I do not want to use PayPal or Western Union money transfer. Sales in Australia are not a problem because I can get direct deposits into my bank account (but there are not many Australian on this site). The question is, can people in other countries deposit money into my Australian account? What other options are there? Bank cheques?

I have an unbroken spoke for starters, you could use it to point at your bikes with.

Is it titanium?? ;)

No titanium spokes (I was too poor for that fad), but Ti stem, QRs, BB (that has some odd thread on it) and maybe a frame.

I used to work for this Co in Sydney, great rates etc. and easy to setup an account..

If it's any use, I live in WA, but an an ex-pat jock, and have a UK bank account.

Happy to get pounds into my UK account, and send you the mighty Aussie dollar :-)

Thanks I just might take you up on that.

Now I just have to work out if I want to sell off a few parts or go the whole hog and about 2 bikes worth. The trouble is that the cost of postage overseas may be the difference between ‘fair market value’ and ‘I paid too much for it’. I guess smaller parts are worth it, but frames and wheels sets might be best for the local market. I don’t want to list the parts as yet because I haven’t worked out or even thought about prices (which is needed here to list).
