Paul's v brakes and brake booster??

I've got a lovely ti dbr that I'm running some nice purple Paul's v brakes on. The rear does flex a little when braking, and I thought that a brake booster would solve this issue. Problem is, the Paul's brakes use a combination of the brake boss screw and the brakes outer 'nut' (for want of a better word) to set the spring tension as it doesn't sit in the frame spring mount.

Has anyone fitted a brake booster to such brakes (others include onza ho, Ida compe, some suntour brakes).

If it is possible, my next question would be where can I get the appropriate mounting hard wear in titanium for a brake booster/Paul's brakes combo?

Thanks

I used to run a Gorilla brake booster with Onza HOs no problems. From memory you put the bolt through the booster, then a washer, a small steel tube, another washer and then torqued it up in to the brake boss.

Worked wonders as well (on Mag21s!) :)

Cheers for the pic. I've got the same booster in ti, so just need the hardware (preferably in ti too) to mont it.

It's basically aluminum sleeves and longer bolts to space out the booster from the brakes. You tighten down the bolt in the booster and it compresses the sleeves against the spring adjuster and locks it in position. Fuzzy old pic of the Strange widget brake with my own booster on my old the Edge.

Cheers. Anyone know what thread I'd be after for the boss bolts, or if/where I can get a ti spacer? In an ideal world, purple alloy bolt and washer would be great, but can I get them in the required length? I guess a purple spacer would also work.

You should be able to either source the tubing with the ID/OD, drill out some bar stock with the right OD, or if worse comes to worse, grab a Tektro booster with the hardware off ebay for cheap. Your LBS may have some in their misc, parts drawer too.
