For Sale PART TWO (BRAND NEW FRAMESET): A Tale of TWO Ritchey Breakaways...

Hello! :)

You may have seen my other listing for a blue and white, used Ritchey Breakaway road frameset, which is posted HERE.

This one is different - it's a BRAND NEW, NIB, NOS (whatever we want to call it) Ritchey Breakaway Cross frameset, including travel case (one sold recently for £350 on its own, or you can buy it from Ritchey for $500 - but you don't need to because I'm including it 😂).

53~53.5cm top-tube. Works out to their size M. Can be built bigger or smaller, just depends on how you prefer your cross frames to be. They are extremely hard to find, and near impossible in this size.

New framesets are currently £2,088.00 and obviously not nearly as cool. This one is delightfully retro. They're also now only available in one dull color and for disc brakes; cantis are cooler and this frameset has the beautiful historic colorway for the cross version.

If you know, you know (how awesome these are!). This is probably the best steel foldable travel cross frame ever made.

All joining collars are included, as is a still-in-packaging Ritchey headset, the original instructions, and also all the original frame protection velcro travel covers.

This frame has never even been connected/joined up.

It is in fact SO new, that the plastic covers for the brake bosses are still attached to the stays - as the frame was painted with these covers installed, you'll need to use a scalpel to cut through the paint seal to remove them. I wanted to do this for as long as I've owned it, as it is so deeply satisfying, but the new owner will have the immense pleasure of being able to do it themselves. ;)

Asking price is £1300, with actual shipping cost on top of that. Local pickup from London also OK of course. I know it's a lot, but used ones have sold for as much in the recent past. If there are no takers amongst our friends here, it'll be listed on ebay for more. If you really love it, give me a shout and we can talk. Retrobike family is family :) I originally bought this with big dreams of traveling the world with it, and never had the chance to build it up. You know how it is. 😂 Some recent bad health news means that I will no longer be able to ride and so everything is going - I'd love for a friend from here to enjoy this frame.

Here are the pics, cheers:

Just to say, I bought the same frame (Breakaway Cross) built up recently- together with the case it has to be one of the best travel solutions ever- rides just like a rigid frame, real Ritchey steel quality, and the best colourway! GLWS!!

That is awesome!!! Would love to see yours. These are indeed probably the best travel bikes around. So easy to put together and take apart quickly, as well! Built up, they totally feel like a non-separable bike.
