paranoid about selling stuff?+ buying uneeded stuff?

i was just browsing the for sale section and i found myself thinking whether or not i could sell anymore of my parts that are currently being unused.

i have the guts of an m900 xtr groupset and all of a deore dx group.

frankly i don't want to sell any of it as i may need it, and that is the point, the xtr is all in good condition but i currently have no frame to hang it on unless i upgrade my elite but then i'd have a full xt group which i again don't want to sell.

basically i have 2 spare groupsets and no frames to hang them on! the problem being i don't want anymore bikes (well i do but i am trying to be sensible) but i don't want to sell stuff like groupsets because they are there ready for a build or as spares for a bike that has an accident, also trying to amass m900 in good condition for sensible prices is getting harder so i might aswel not sell it as i wouldn't get the same now as it would cost to get it later if i did sell it.

i sort of hate the fact that it's all sat there doing nothing though, my logic is that those parts are awaiting the next "keeper" frame, a fat or whatever

In 10 years time, you'll wish you'd never sold that M900/deore/whatsamajigger, unless you keep it now.

You either stockpile everything, or sell everything you have no plan for. I, Personally, fall more into the first category, having regretted selling most things I've ever sold...

I can only agree with Mark in the last month I have brought 3 items that I have sold within the 3 months :roll:

I have a mint M952 groupset sat in a box ...its waiting to go on my plastic lts which has been a dream bike for me since peering at them in the mags ....I am actually holding back on the build. Incase its a disapointment !! :?

Keep the XTR stuff as its good gear, but you might as well punt the DX. You will never use it.

Yes, thats why i have so much stuff, more than the amount of frames I have to hang it off. I must part with some more of what i have collected, and I will regret it, but I'll still keep back the good stuff. I like shiny nice things

it's like that syncros stem i sold you (daj), i originally got for a build but then went a different way but i decided to keep it as i figured i'd need it at a later date but then you asked for exactly that stem in a wanted ad so i thought i'd let it go.

with me it's the paranoia of selling something i might later need, it's not about the money i don't need to sell stuff as such
