Pace rc300 project about to start !

its about 8 inches long, od. is about the right size but we need to tickle a fair bit off the id. We are going to make it a thicker wall than original spec, so hopefully we dont have a repeat !! (fingers crossed)

Anymore progress on the headtube repair?

Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing but...the bad thing is that paces of a certian age seem to be appearing more and more in here with cracks

The good thing is that more of those owners are looking for ways to repair their pride and joy and those repairs normally are effective and as such offer a good information share which is great

rc300 repair

hi guys ! yup been talking with my friend today who is going to turn the tube. We are a bit uncertain how tight to make the headtube. We have got a brand new hope headset and it seems to tight in the old headtube. As it measures now it seems 0.3mm too tight over the diameter. My mate thinks it should be 0.03 to make it a nice tight fit. Does anyone else have any opinions ? At the moment as things stand we are thinking that the old headtube has maybe cracked as it was too small to fit the headset and hence the cracks ??
