Overbury Pioneer finished (Why am I getting funny looks?)

I took a pic down and asked if it was one of there's he couldn't have been er more Andy Powell.

Drop outs and brake moving care of Argos.

Erkan, each to his own, it would be a dull world if we all liked the same thing and didn't swap things about..............Ye God's imagine a world full of geared, disc braked, bouncy bikes

I've reserved judgement until now but I must have come back and looked at this thread on ten separate occasions. I must admit admit that overall I really don't like it either.

The problem for me is those wheels would look ugly on most bikes, especially when compared to the elegance of a spoked wheel. On such a skinny and well proportioned Overburys frame their ugliness seems amplified somewhat.

I do like the cranks and SS set-up though, and aside from the spin wheels and the stem come to think of it, I think it could perhaps grow on me.

Firstly I'd like to say that everyone has different tastes and ideas and its obviously your bike to do with what you will. By posting it in readers bikes you open yourself up to other peoples opinions on the build.

In my opinion however they're all dreadful.
Thats a gorgeous mountain bike frame and imho should be used as such.
If you want a racer, why not buy one or use an old spesh or kona frame? Its bad enough seeing mass produced frames being used as ss or with drops etc but for heavens sake not an Overburys!

I'll get flamed for this post but would love too see peoples reaction to, lets say, a Fat or Teesdale frame being built this way.

Sorry if you think this is out of order matey but you did ask for opinions :D

On the plus side, at least its getting ridden so not all bad

The Overbury labelled frame was bent so bad it was free with a set of forks. Some incredibly skilled people managed to salvage it, we built it up with what we had lying around, as we still weren't sure how it would ride. It now gallops about the lovely trails around my mate's place in France. It was due to be thrown away.

I just stick "proper" wheels on the other and it's a mountain bike....

As I say each to his own............I'd better not show my road bike or my Surly winter commuter then.
