The last time I rode my 1997 Orange X1 was at The Malverns Classic last year in the Retro XC event, sadly I’m unable to go this year due to work but it hasn’t stop me from dusting down the X1 giving it a quick service and then taking it out on sun drenched trails for a nice warm 10’miler today. It still has me grinning from ear to ear when I ride this.

I always in awe and do have to commend Orange for catching up with the early 90s and this bike. Their early 90s bike are so 'standard' nothing pushing any limits.

Here they have taken everything other people tried and pushed the envelope with, split tubes, e-stay front triangle design principle from the head tube, offset seatubes.
Then plonked a non e-stay rear end on it. A few tried this with rigid frames, even mix and matched.

Here Orange went all out, good on them for making weird bikes.

Excellent colours too.
