Orange P7 forks into E3, steerer cut too short? solutions???

Steerer doesn't even meet the top bearing, if the converter is used do you just add a small spacer the size of the steerer tube?

the bearing in there is for threaded 1", think it was suggested I convert to 1" ahead system

The extender is basically a thick alloy quill that fits inside your too-short steerer; it comes with quite a few different sized alloy spacers, for want of a better word, that fit round the quill and are the same diameter as the steerer...

...you leave as many spacers on the quill as it takes to extend the steerer to the length you require, including any Ahead spacers you want under the stem, and yes you will need a 1" Aheadset and stem; more choice than for threaded though 8)

Thanks mate, guess it will make more sense when I recieve converter and see the spacers that come with it

Don't worry, it's a seriously simple and effective solution...

...if it weren't for the fact SWMBO would probably lock me out this time of night for trying ( ) I'd go and take a photo of the couple I have sitting in forks in my shed, but you'll soon suss it out when you see it 8)

my intial confusion was a around the fact that it was converting to Ahead and automatically thought 1 1/8" stem, just bought one from Wiggle 25.4 version

best stay out of trouble mate and stay warm in the process
