That sucks man. Hopefully you'll get some useful input. I've still been contemplating making an e-bike of an old MTB but as of now it's still not something I'm sure about. I suppose this is always the problem with bikes that rely on electrical components, a lot more room for faults. Real shame though as it sounded like the project was an overall success - other than this unfortunate event of course.

Disappointing but I'll sort it one way or another - It's all part of the learning process for me.
 
Sorted! Was a duff solder joint in the charger.

Next mod is going to be gearing - the wide range 9 speed isn't helping with getting the balance right when it comes to cadence and motor torque - it's quite critical to be in the right gear so closer ratios would help quite a bit... but for now, I'm just happy to have it back in action.
