Orange E3 Frame, update on weld and a couple more pics.

That seat tube has been cut down, I've just checked the 1997 catalogue and there should be more extending above the top tube.

Cheer's Cherrybomb  , it has the stop on the rear of the seat tube under the seat stay but like you say not the triple one at the rear of the top tube, the double one that's there has not been cut and the alloy around it is clean, the weld on it looks the same as on the triple one at the front so it's a bit strange.

The whole thing is generally a bit scabby though :( , finding it hard not to launch into a major rant on here about it :x

This is gettin worse  , dont think i can take any more

If the double stop at the rear is original are you absolutely certain it is an E3? Since it isn't painted you should be able to see the Easton logos stamped into the main tubes.

Do you have access to the Catalogues?

I can send you PDF's if you PM your email address.

Oh for Fu*k sake you mean it may not even be an Orange

Can't see any Easton logos, frame number is A501018 2 if that
helps, also rear mech hanger has an A on it ?, chain stays
are kind of pinched in, also has a 1" head tube.

Does it have a canti bridge on the wishbone? If it doesn't I'm wondering if a 'noodle' style cable guide has been removed (hence the welding on the seat tube which we've assumed is a repair).

A photo of the frame and a some details (dropouts etc.) and some measurements would be useful, cos Orange put some reasonably detailed geometry data in their catalogues.

Here's some more details and pics CB, if you could i.d it that'd be great

No canti stop on the seat stay but was sold to me as a 95 frame :? .

Seat tube measures 15.5" centre to centre and 17" centre to top.

Top tube measures 21.5" centre to centre.

Frame weighs 3 & 3/4 LB with bottom bracket fitted.

Brake boss mounts on these forks are the same shape as the mounts on the seat stays so at least the forks seem to belong to the frame.

Only just got back in, so I'll have a bit of an investigate.

Those measurements sound right for a 17" Orange frame though and the brake boss detail looks good too.

Not sure about that gusset under the down tube though, that's not very typical of the Elite frames, that looks more '02', but I'll have to check.
