Orange Clockwork, date?

Very good deal you got on that. 8)

Looks to be a 19" from about 94-95 (as has been said) which was just before Orange changed the name to C16.
As far as I know the 'C' in C16 means Clockwork (the 16 being the revision) so the differences should be subtle.
Orange did the same with the Elite which became the E2 , the Aluminium O which became the Ev'o' 2 and the Prestige which became the P7
More recently they did the same with the Gringo too.

S'pose people had more of an emotional tie to the Clockwork name so they reintroduced it in about 97 for a couple of years before dropping it for good. The 'new' Clockwork from last year don't really have much in common with the original except for the name (I'd still like one though).

I'm not sure how they can have a Prestige AND P7 in the current lineup though........surely they should be the same bike?

Sorry to dredge this thread up again, but I've another question!

I've nearly got the bike back on the road, not much of it is original unfortunately, frame, wheels, bars+stem I think is about it. Looking forward to giving this single speeding a go!

I finally managed to get the seatpost out, it was stuck solid! lots of slicing and bashing finally managed to loosen it up. I ordered a new seatpost, 26.8 as per the Orange website, but its too big. It seems on closer inspection to be a 26.3mm seatpost. That seems a really strange size! does that sound right, or have my digital calipers gone wrong?

I've looked and can't find any seatposts that size, so I'm assuming I've measured it wrong. Although the diameter of the old post and the inner diameter of the seat post both agree, 26.3mm...

Thanks for any help!
