Minor in the grand scheme of things but a happy change from the black gunky thing found after a muddy off-road ride.

the seafront (although nice and flat) gives my bike a nice shade of 'sodium chloride'. makes my brakes scream if there's enough wind and ocean spray in the air!

Your local roads must be much cleaner than mine LGF. Still, I know what you mean.

The other good thing about road riding is you get to go three times as far for the same amount of effort.

Ditto about the chain colour. My Tricross is Belgium Bad Ass Brown at the moment.

The good thing about road biking is I get less grief off my wife about muddy clothing.
