Pennine Way Record

thanks for the link Ned... yes rode the Speedwell titanium bike , well 2 bikes as one broke about 20 miles from the end whilst on the last leg over the Cheviot mountains... so had to do a de-tour of about an hour to get my spare bike.. then return and carry on... actual riding time was 42 hours which is still the fastest time for the Pennine Way... caught a couple who were walking near Middleton in Teesdale, they had left Edale 10 days before and asked me when I left... they nearly fainted when I said yesterday morning !!!!!!..

I've done the Pennine way on a bike and they refuse to allow us to wear anything with a coffin on it for doing it as it has to be "walked" ......

I thought the 'coffin' was Lyke Wake - but then I'm probably totally wrong (as usual :roll: )

pennine way

its actually illegal to ride a bike on the Pennine Way now... the running record is now 2 days 17 hours but he ran for all apart from 1 hour rest..
