On One Ti with Ti forks

Seller says the forks aren’t On One but they look just like them. If they are they’re fantastic forks, really stiff and direct yet smooth; the harder you ride the better they feel. Very heavy for Ti though!

Great review if the Ti forks. Wish we had more of this on here.

Thanks M-Power. I’m a huge fan of Ti forks and use a few types. For my tame style of riding your average Ti fork is just about stiff enough and I love the supple feel and comfort - but the On Ones are in another league (I haven’t used my Morati yet tho’..😉)
They’re more shock absorbing than the Ritchey Logics they replaced but feel far stiffer with much better control. When you hammer them the softness really comes through whilst remaining rock solid.

I think it’s their unique design/construction that makes the difference. Where most Ti forks are a bunch of 1 1/8” tubes, the On Ones have 1 1/4” legs and crown. More interestingly the bottom of the steerer below the crown race measures 1.4” -and is 6mm thick! (soz for the mixed units of measure)
No wonder they weigh well over 900g….

If I fancied a fully rigid Ti Inbred those forks would be a deal maker for sure. They’ve gotta be worth at least a 1/3 the price of the bike?

9EA9CB3E-4DBC-435E-BEC6-4BA99DEADD17.webp @ Ferrus. I had an XACD Ti NOS 1in steerer canti fork which had a similar design to your One One Ti fork. They originally had a high failure rate from what I read but the one I had ( a second gen ) had noticably thicker guage Ti tubing but was still very stiff ( trying to squeeze them ) and crazy light 567g uncut…..But….. alas I never actually rode it 🤦🏻‍♂️ I still wonder how good they would have ridden now I have read your review !!!

I sold it to a German chap for his FAT Ti ( my intention too). Not seen it for sale since so I guess hes very happy with it. Fast forward a year or so and I dropped on my first rider Ti fork, an uber rare Morati Ti 26” canti fork for my 97 FAT Ti. All I can say is the ride is incredible. Im a pretty harsh critic of bikes and handling etc but its as close to perfection as its possible to get IMO. Its fully rigid with a Ti bar, stem, seatpost, frame, forks etc but its just soooo smoooth and comfy over rutty stuff you really dont need any suspension at all, yet its stiff when you climb or put the power down. Im now forever sold on quality Ti forks. Sure, many of the early designs were too flexy, juddery under braking or prone to snapping when hammered but when its done right, nothing feels nicer.

Absolutely beautiful bike there mate, delicious component choices. I bet it’s a sublime ride.
Your comments on the Morati fork are really inspiring! I need to pull my finger out and get mine fitted to the XLM Merlin. Not quite in the same league as your Fat which as you say is about as good as it gets, but it should be very sweet handling combo’. Can’t wait now. 😀

You always baulk at the cost of these parts especially with import on top. Still less than you can pay for a TOTR modern rig. Its a shot in the dark, you feel guilty, don't tell the wife etc as there are so few rider reviews of the bling but I can confirm its money well spent. Its a synergy of absolute PERFECTION. Hardtails just give you the purest riding experience but typically at the expense of comfort and none of us are getting any younger. Not with this combo though, its perfectly stiff yet you hardly feel a thing as the Ti parts just adsorb it all and it gets a lot of nice comments from riders and non alike which is pretty cool. Plus its bomb & rust proof and ridiculously light 😁
