Old Elvish (from France not Mordor)

Finally getting round to posting my late 60s/early 70s Elvish 531.

I’d love to say that it was lovingly restored or rebuilt by me but it wasn’t as I bought it off a great bloke called Col from Wigan a couple of years back.

He did a fab job and was a bit worried it might get split up again for parts but no way was that happening.

I can find very little about them save for an interesting thread on here and a few odds and ends on the internet about the bikes themselves and about Victor Fontan who was sponsored by Elvish in the 20s.

Anyway, it’s a lovely bike and lovely to ride (especially now it has more suitably chunky tires on it).

Re:

My kind of groupset.. but you do realise that:

A)Elves don't come from Mordor.. and it would take extreme circumstances to get them to go there?
B)To just over fifty per cent of the electorate, the two places might be more or less synonymous?
:)

Re:

Thanks :D

I knew my shocking lack of Tolkien knowledge would be my undoing one day though.

(And I daren't even think about responding to the other observation :)

I like that, I've always liked an obscure French bike with lots of French bits on it, very nice sir.
