hi i have a noleen shock on a proflex that apparently needs new oil.

anyone know how its done?

Both the NR2 and the NR4 are fairly simple shocks but they are nitrogen filled as well, so this may be a problem when it comes to opening them up, and certainly when it comes to rebuilding it. If you do rebuil it though you can change the weight of the oil to alter the shocks characteristics.
I've resisted tampering with mine thus far, but I seem to rember a thread on here where someone had taken one apart, and also someone adapting a valve to repressurize the shock using air. Worth having a look over on the idriders proflex forum too.

I have found that thread today.

The shock in question simply says noleen on it and isn't a piggy back unit so I am assuming is just oil and coil without the nitrogen. Could be wrong though. It is in a fork if that helps.

I think even without piggyback it's still nitrogen.

You're right, it's probably an NR2 or similar, there will be a philips head screw at one end which covers the valve for pressurising the system.

If you get no joy on here or idriders proflex forum then it may be worth calling in at a motorcycle repairer, see of they can rebuild the shock as it's essentially the same as many rear shocks on older bikes.

I had my noleen nr2 done for my proflex beast. A ohlins suspension centre called mock Gardner racing, cost me £30 posted for a nitrogen recharge and oil change
