Snapped a spoke on the way to work this morning, which has caused an outbreak of Pringlewheel. I had another 6 miles to go so I slackened off the rear brake and carried on. I'm now at work and the friendly LBS can't repair it until Thursday. Will it be OK until then? It's not rubbing on the chainstay.

If I were you, I'd blag a lift or take a bus/taxi home.

However, if the above aren't an option, steadily ride home and it should be ok.

Really depends on whether the rim is disposable...should be okay to ride..but if they are nice rims...I probably wouldn't

If it was me, I'd turn the bike upside down and would true the wheel up as best I could with the lack of one spoke and ride it back home.
So for you it would depend if a) you have a spoke key handy and b) you know how to true up a wheel. Option c) would be to ride it as it is but it depends just how loose the rim is.

saying that one of my bikes has had a missing spoke for about 4 years
and its still running fine ,s/s too

How many spokes have you got? 36/32? and you'll be fine, 28 and are a bifta, have a think, any less and I'd try for a lift.

32, but it's got quite a wobble despite only one having broken!

To be fair I could probably buy a lockring tool, spoke key and a spoke for the price of the repair. I just wanted to get it done today so I could ride it home...

Old CTC colleague of mine had a brilliant temporary fix for this when a spoke went on my Dawes Galaxy on the outward leg of a journey. Remove bust spoke and then loosen off the spoke either side of the bust one, not tighten as you would think. Result the other spokes were under less stress and the wheel ran pretty true and allowed me 40 trouble free miles
