One question (please forgive my nobbie ness on this) Do we have to pay to get in to help? (never been before)

No, it's all free. Camping, parking, viewing, shopping...all freeeeee....The riders subsidise it with their entry fees (and the advertisers ).

Food's actually pretty good too. Not a bad thing after a week of Chevaux burgers at Le Mans the week prior. :shock:
