NR/SR Record brake lever hood replacements

Seen a few non-aero replacement hoods on the Bay for NR/SR levers but not sure which ones really fit best apart from the originals obviously. Any recommendations?

Hi there, thanks for that. Ah, just found them on his website. Pricey! How did they fit?

The fellow who is making them in Italy claims that he is apparently making them from original moulds. In the US there is also Robbie Fellows making them. His use what appears to be more durable rubber but they do appear to be a bit more opaque than the original ones.

There's a constant flow of the repros on eBay Italy - similar price to Hilary though once postage is factored in. Perfect fit.

There's also a generic version without the logos that's about a fiver cheaper. Haven't tried those, but was planning to get a pair for some Suntour Superbe levers.

Where have you seen a generic version that's five squid cheaper? I've seen some on fleabay but they're £25. Loose Screws has some at $18, but with postage to the UK, they're no cheaper.

These are mine fitted to a lever. They seem OK if a little transparent but I reckon that if you're wanting to source something from a known dealer based in the UK then these are your best bet. At least you can contact Hilary without difficulty.

I got some Universal hoods early last year from an Italian dealer via e-bay and they seem a bit 'opaque'ish' but do the job. However, they worked out about £4.00 dearer than these.

Going by e-bay prices Hilary's are still quite competitive. If you want some then you just have to bite the bullet I'm afraid.

Wow, those look fantastic. Those levers look the business. An unscrupulous individual would flog them on fleabay as NOS. I'm not quite such a purist as you guys. I'd settle for a less expensive generic pair if they look halfway decent and fit ok.

On a similar note, anyone know if there are replacements available for the little black rubber bumper thingy at the top of the caliper that prevents the front brake from accidentally damaging the downtube?
