Not if, but when

Every ambulance journey is a risk for the crew and for other people who actually had accidents while someone intentionally messed themselves up.

I am chilled out in extremis, but that does not mean your pal is not a plonker.

Were his injuries assessed at the scene as needing airlift, that would again be another set of risks he imposed on other people.

He is a good rider, and I liked the intermix of trials machines, but when you are going to undertake serious stunt work you should think about nets, lines, etc.

Especially after you cocked it up a couple of times...

Trust me, he's no pal of mine. He's a very skilled rider doing his job and this stunt is easy compared to some of the stuff he's done. He fell off, it happens to us all. Search this site and you'll find quite a few members have had to have medical assistance after a spill, most in more remote places then Cowling moor.

I'm a Firefighter and drive the pumps under blue lights. I do not feel like I'm put 'at risk' every time a call comes in. I'm trained to do it, it's my job. If you think this is a waste of emergency service resources you should see what 95% of our jobs are.

I have been in Mountain Rescue and Lifeboat services, and a number my family are in the emergency services currently, one is in A&E surgery in Afghanistan.

A dickhead is still a dickhead, and one that does not take basic precautions is many times so. All I am suggesting is a bit of preparation.

His 'job'???????

F Me.

His job, if he is a stunt rider, is to organise his ass before he does a stunt. In which case he is shit at his job. He clearly has no idea how to react in a fall either, by the way.

Thanks to God people like you are prepared to go and pick up his shit when he fecks up.

The twat is a bit frigging out of shape as well, perhaps using technique he would have been able to arrest his fall had he been fit and able.

How should he have reacted to the fall?

Any need for all the swearing, edited or not?

I'm sorry flyer but get off your high horse. You are not only suggesting he takes precautions you are calling a person you don't know all sorts of obscenities. For all you know this could of been his one and only trip to a&e. He is afterall a professional who believe it or not knows for the most part what he is doing.

For christs sakes I have been to hospital for bike related injuries 3 times in the past 4 years. Yes I feel guilty that my hobby and sometimes over eagerness to persue it have landed me in a situation needing the assistance of medical professionals. Please feel free to call me all the names under the sun for getting back on my bike after each time.

I am actually disgusted at your attitude here. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, you have one of this chap, and I have one of you, one that has bow been lowered.
