Not if, but when

Ouch. Speedy recovery and all that.

When the first thing someone shouts out is 'ambulance' your heart sinks.

I think that was him shouting 'ambulance!'!!!!

Get well soon you bloody loon!!!

Not wishing to sound too judgemental, but can someone who knows the twerp remind him people end up risking their lives to come out and rescue people indulging themselves like this?

If you are going to do stunt riding, organise it properly and take precautions.

With smart camera work this could have been achieved without the risk.

Chill out flyer, no one risked their life to rescue him as he was only a couple of hundred meters from the road with good access. No real danger to anyone except himself.

A bit of CGI would've worked. Actually, stop motion animation would be better.

Every ambulance journey is a risk for the crew and for other people who actually had accidents while someone intentionally messed themselves up.

I am chilled out in extremis, but that does not mean your pal is not a plonker.

Were his injuries assessed at the scene as needing airlift, that would again be another set of risks he imposed on other people.

He is a good rider, and I liked the intermix of trials machines, but when you are going to undertake serious stunt work you should think about nets, lines, etc.

Especially after you cocked it up a couple of times...

I'm married to a nurse and she gets seriously irate when people f..k themselves overdoing stuff like this as she knows what it costs to treat them. (Her) rant over.

They've had a few mountain-bike related injuries in lately. So won't be showing her this one. I like a quiet life, me.

Yep my mrs is a nurse too and is quite happy to chuck her self down a mountain/hill on her bike.  If everybody was wrapped in cotton wool and bubble wrap what would be the point in living.

Yeah I agree, maybe not one of his best judgements he made that day and prob should have put a crash mat down just in case. He knows the risks as does everyone else in this kind of sport and poeple will continue to push the limits.

A&E is less than 2 miles from where he fell.

that sounds very judgemental.

surely the risk is something that drives a person like him to do things. if these films were made with smart camera work i really dont think they would be popular at all.

hope he makes a speedy recovery

What's done is done. He can certainly do things on a bike that I can only dream about.

However i would expect him to go on to raise funds for the air ambulance and mountain rescue teams (Apologies to Chris if he already does this).

A donation link with the video would have been a nice gesture.
