Hi,

just been out on the Surley as the sun is shining and my back feels good for a change.
When i got back and leant the trusted push iron against the kitchen wall. I noticed how many differing parts there are on it.Its a real mish mash of kit that over the years i have come to trust or just liked the look of.
I do love period builds to look at. But the bike that has evolved over a long time just does it for me!
Does anyone else go for the old, new, fancy and basic aproach like me.Or the purist way of building?

My Frankensteins breakfast reads like this,

surley 1x1
Project 2s
American Classic hubs,dt revs, 517s, Kenda Maxlite
Cook brothers cranks,fsa crank bolt
crank Brothers pedals
Middleburn chainring
fsa ti BB
Sram chain
Use Carbon pin
Flite
Raceface stem
Onza bar ends
fsa Orbit headset
Real levers
Specialised bars
Imperial lock on grips
Avid Vs + other bits n bobs

Well putting it down in type i dont even thinki should be on this site!!! :?

I am going to find Randomtat.com

Oh and my Sunn build is going to be even more random!

Cheers,Al

I like to be wrong, it feels so right

go with what you trust - makes sense. Don't want anything breaking at the wrong moment!!

I ride a single speed! Nothing wears out,so i need to brake stuff now and then. Oh,appart from tyres. I cant get excited about tyres.
No matter how much rubber content they have

I have to admit, i`m a bit like that myself. Had a Yo Eddy! with a Magura Johnny T on the back, riser bar and lock ons.

See! Now your making it up just to make me feel normal. :D

Ive tried to stick to the correct year on the Funk but ive waivered slightly with M900 stuff, and to get everything correct on the RC100 is proving to be a pain too.

Yes but everyone needs a hoby

Keeps us all off the streets.

Andy,

If you need a Suntour XCD front mech i have one. You can have it for a couple of quid.
See the way i turn the conversation around to flogging my old tat!
Seamless!
