NOS - What does it mean?

Retro Newbie
Folks,

I've recently started to build up an old steel marin from '93, about the time I started riding. On my voyage of discovery and my quest for old '92 XTR bits, I've come to realise, there is a whole world of retro bike enthusiasts. Nice one.

But..something thats been troubling me for a few weeks now...what on earth is NOS? I always thought it was something that made XR2's go rediculously fast.

SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN :)

Thanks

Nev

In this context NOS = New Old Stock - ie been sitting in a box for years and never used before.

To most people outside retrobiking though NOS would just make you faster on the hills if linked to cycling ;)

Splendid, Thanks for responding.

I managed to win a NOS XTR M900 headset recently and can't wait for it to arrive. Should be going on the Bear Valley SE (my mate was sending it to the skip so I collared it off him) before the weekend.

Cheers,

Nev.
