Back in 2005 I went on a job that was a bit different...It was filming a cross country skiing race to the magnetic North Pole for "Transworld Sport" an extreme sports company that used to be shown late night on Channel 4. It was 5 weeks trekking in -40 and sleeping under canvas which was a challenge in itself! The other day I found some tapes in the loft that were my "behind the scenes" shots. Along with my broadcast camera I took along a little Sony handycam camera just to film some little momentos of my trip and these were the tapes...I had never done anything with them so over the past week decided to compile them into this short film. As I say filmed with a £300 camera back in 2005 so not widescreen and not intended for broadcast just as a journal really. Anyhow I've stuck it on Youtube if any of you are interested...

Interested? I literally cannot wait to get into bed and check this out while the old trout has her shower, how long it it? Are you still in the business?

Ha not that long 10-11mins....yeah still a cameraman although my best globe-trotting extreme shoot days are behind me. Have a family now and just do BBC News/Sport/Current affairs stuff...


...oooo no sound? Ahhh darn Youtube may have muted it as it has commercial music! I'll try and sort that out...the camera was an old Sony P1 with some image stabilisation...
 
Sorry, I meant that I couldn't wait for a peep and loaded it up on my laptop. Can't whip the sound up as Rich Hall is on in a mo, I mean now and the wife would shoot me if we don't watch him together. We had him as a guest a few times over the last decade.
