Always good to start a new project while you still have unfinished ones.
A few months ago, I picked up this 1994 (I think?) S Works steel frame from a friend. Unfortunately, the original steel fork is long gone, and it was running an old suspension fork. Luckily, it still had the lovely titanium Specialized stem and the original seat post.
For its age, the frame is in pretty good shape, just a few paint chips and some minor rust spots I'll touch up.
Finding a 1" threadless fork similar to the original was tough around here. I ended up getting an old Tange fork from a friend. It looked rough at first, but after a sandblast, it cleaned up well.
I had a local paint shop mix up some colour-matched spray paint. It's a little off, but I'm fine with it... I keep telling myself.
I also got a lovely new silver Chris King headset for it – a black one just wouldn't have looked right.
