looking into getting a bar mounted light to compliment my tesco cree torch that will be on my helmet but on a budget. I had read about p7 light from dealextreme which seems cheap albeit you need a few batteries as the run time is short (about an hour) anyone use this light or have any other solutions?

cheers
Gary

The P7 is a good value lighting solution & the runtime of 1hr will be on max setting which is very bright.

You can increase the runtime so I hear, something called a turboferret

You can also get a dedicated bike light very similar to the P7 in terms of brightness on Deal extreme , but it comes as a complete kit. think it costs about £60

Wish I could find the links for you, but my PC with them on has died (I'm now on a borrowed mini mac without all my bookmarks)

I switch about depending on the conditions, when all on I have no probs on totally unlit roads. In fact the 2X 230's were ok too but the 900 turns night into day. It is truly brilliant.

You do need special batteries though and a charger, but this helps as they don't fit anything else.

the top one gets good reviews and is pretty cheap but you do need to get the charger and spare batteries and mount but even so looks very good for the money- would be immense to try one of the trail centres at night, mind you- ...... I do get scared in the dark :?

night rides might be the only way to keep my fitness this winter.
