Nice Explosif

I think it's the highest price I've seen for a retro Explosif.

The bids are quite interesting. Somebody started bidding at £325, not knowing that there was already a bid for £600. The bidder then made a large number of further bids culminating in £590.13. None of them of course succeeded, but it's puzzling that he didn't bid again as the price only going up to £600 when you bid £590.13 indicates that £600 was the maximum bid and a further bid of £610 would take it.

Numbers mean a lot to some people, so maybe 600+ was emotionally a no no, but if you want something that much, what's another £19.87?

The even more annoying thing is that because I was going to bid high (but not that high), I didn't go for the lovely 95 Kilauea that finished a day before for £299...........I would have had that if the days were reversed!!

:) I did follow this one as i "kicked it off", i enjoyed all the comments from people who and i mean this has a lot more experience in the retro commnuity that i do..if the winner is happy that the main thing!!. :D :D
Thanks to all for the contribution ..ernie

very tempting, if it doesnt go for silly money. anyone seen one of these sell recently or any ideas of real world value for one?
Although 95 Explosifs are rare, it wouldn't normally raise more than around £350. However this one may genuinely be in very good condition indeed, for the reasons stated above, so £500 doesn't seem silly to me. Unspoiled condition is worth a lot, but £580 is perhaps getting over-enthusiastic.

There are two 1994 Explosif frames (Tange Ultimate) for sale on eBay at present, which should be more affordable. There are far fewer Columbus Max Explosifs around, perhaps fewer were sold because they were more expensive. Columbus Max was a very expensive tubeset.

Its all gone a bit loopy at the moment
