Its been one of those things that has needed doing for a while - replacing the washing machine :(

The incredible noise it makes whilst spinning I can live with but now its started chirping like the turbo on a rally car - last straw me thinks

I used to be up on these things having sold electrical goods as a yoof but things have moved on in the last 11 or so years.

Only the two of us, 3 - 4 loads a week

Something economical etc ....

Any to steer clear of?

Budget still TBD but I guess that will be decided partly by recommendations.

I bought a very cheap Indesit for tenants when I lived overseas - it lasted 10 years!

Bosch and Hotpoint are good too IME.

bosch, zanussi and aeg used to be produced in the same factory so any of those - ourZanussi Jetsystem 1400 is rounding year 8 or 9 with no signs of trouble (just keep the fluff filter empty!)

Always had Hotpoint and lasted for years and years. Current one is 10 years plus old and is used every day.

I have a (proper) stainless steel siemens - 10+ years - still going strong :D

Best go touch some wood ...

WD :D

Our Samsung one has never been any bother... It runs off cold only which is less economical, but given how often our boiler breaks that's not necessarily a bad thing.

It also plays a tune at the end of the cycle. A merry ditty of sorts.

I am easily pleased.
