New to me Stumpjumper. looking for help!

Hi All, first time on the forum and my first retro bike. I picked this up a little while ago and I am super stoked with the bike but I was hoping you guys could help me answer some questions?

1. What year is it? my guess is 92 or 93?

2. The guy I bought it from said he added the front shock a few years after he bought it so I think it had a rigid front fork to begin with. I would like to go back to a rigid fork but I have no idea what to look for. It doesn't need to be an original stump jumper fork but I would like to replicate the original size and angle, if anyone knows what that is.

P.S. if anyone has any interest in the front shock they can have it for free just pay shipping. I also have the little pump that goes with it.


3. does anyone know what size quill stem this has, 1" or 1 1/8"?

Going to say a 93 maybe 94. I do not recall that colour as bring a 92 or 91.

Looks to be a steel frame, in that case a 1" quill stem.

I have a Ritchey Logic fork on mine 92 steel one myself and she rides beautifully.

Lovely find! It’s definitely a ‘93 Stumpjumper, you can see it on the catalog on page 12. I had a Burgundy HardRock and I’m pretty sure it’s the same colour since it changes a lot depending on the light.
It originally had a Direct Drive Cr-Mo fork, shared with the Stumpjumper M2 and all the rigid Rockhopper made at the time.
