Retro Newbie
Hello folks. I’m new to this forum as I just acquired a retro road bike and may require some advice . I have spent a lot of time on forums such as Ratrod bikes, The Cabe and cyclechat as most of my interests have centered around custom builds, vintage Moultons and others, mostly bikes with IGH drives. I decided to go outside my comfort zone when I saw this beautiful Vitus 992 for sale locally. This is my first road bike. I will eventually be disassembling the bike for a thorough cleaning etc. I am considering polishing the all the brushed aluminum parts to a mirror shine.
The anodized blue frame has some scratche so I was wondering if there is a way to minimize them so they are less noticeable. The bike is in amazing condition for being 30 years old. I am open to any advice, or the best way to proceed and methods or additionial info on this bicycle. thank you

Welcome, we love hub gears and Moultons.

Small wheels here.

Weird stuff here.

I finally got this bike done and ready for the road. I disassembled, cleaned, lubed and polished the aluminum on this Vitus 992. I had to replace the rear derailer as the original had issues. The gears are set up and it rides nicely. Looking forward to racking up a few miles on this.
