New purchase - Battaglin

I was at a cycle jumble the other day and picked up this frame, complete with Campag BB and headset. I wasn't looking for a frame TBH, but couldn't resist it!

Now I can put a vague date on it from a little bit of research, it's definitely post 87, and the 130mm rear spacing probably puts it around 89 -90.

What I don't know it the kind of steel it is made of. It takes a 27.2 seatpost and has a braize on for a front deraillieur which would seem to suggest a reasonable frameset, but which could it be?

Here are a few photos, the BB looks like it had cutouts, and to stop the rain getting in, some kind of filler has been applied!

Plans are to ride it as is for a while, and if I like it, to get a repaint done - the paint is knackered really, it has an awful lot of touch ups.

Thats a bargain...............Good quailty frame, columbus slx, or that size
maybe sl.
Can you feel a spiraling inside the tubing ?, if so slx.

as someone who used to import Battaglins into the UK its late 80's early 90's

all battaglins had the same paint quality whether gas pipe or SLX and all had chrome as standard

with a 27.2 seat post its full SL or SLX

3 tubi SL had 26.8

think you can still get transfers from the factory if you quote the frame number.

would love a 55/56cm one
