Hello All,

I have recently bought (£7.50 off ebay :D ) a old raleigh bike that im looking to restore and use myself to get a little fit and save on the pennys for fuel!

But im stuck at which model it is?

I need to get some new tyres for it and maybe new brake lines and anodised bits for it to get it looking in ok condition to use again!

Any help would be appreciated!

(PLEASE COULD MODERATOR MOVE THIS TO THE ROAD SECTION)

Regards
Callum

Welcome to the forum, Callum.

Looks as if you've bought yourself a bit of work to do - enjoy :) and enjoy each mile with a smile, when you start saving those pennies (soon to be £s)

Thanks very much but i like a challenge and look forward to riding it, is there anywhere that i could get some information from?

I'm sure there are loads of members who have completed renovations of old bikes and can give you plenty of pointers. Suggest you put a "Help, Advice on how to" post in the Retro Classic Road section and explain what you hope to do but would like some pointers.

Good luck with it

Re:

Welcome to the madhouse! I was in the same situation as you, working with an old Raleigh. Beware though, it's a slippery slope and it can soon be a money sink - albeit a very enjoyable one!

head badge is still attached so info should be under the paint work as a place to start
