new breezer lightning mtb

It might be due to the fact that it's a fox. On my size small Intense 5.5, the rebound adjustment on a Fox fork would just strike the frame when turned all the way in, so I had to go with another fork. Not sure that's the case here, but alu tubing isn't generally asthin as steel, so there may have been a clearance issue.

Similar issue with my FOES XCT and a Magura Thor. I have had to install (or will when I can stand up) a spacer on the crown. I wonder if I'll notice any handling difference?

When I came off it apart from the pain th first thought in my head was I hope I've not totalled the frame or fork...but the Albert Select dial is so weedy the frame is safe.

Sorry I didn't spot that Pat / JB had already said it was for clearance reasons.

Handling should be fine, Crell. I did put a Fox Talas on a subsequent 5.5 with a crown spacer to help the clearance and it handled just fine.

Performance Bikes here in the U.S. has Breezers on sale for between $2K to $3.4K depending whether you want steel (Lightning) or aluminum (Thunder) and parts group range from Deore to XT/XTR. For 2011 Breeze is introducing an aluminum 29er called the Jetstream and a carbon 29er called the Cloud 9-don't know the pricing on them yet! All the current Breezer's are hardtails. I don't think there is a distributor in the UK currently.

Was talking to Joe this morning and I asked about the new 29'ers. The carbon Cloud 9 comes in 2 flavors, one full XTR 2X10 and costs $5K. A lower spec. Cloud 9 with SLX parts is around $2600. The alu Jetstream 29er cost $1200-1500 depending on the parts group. Joe said if you want one that you can ask your LBS to order one from the wholesaler in Germany, as there are no UK distributors.
