New boy on the scene 97 rockhopper

Sand, sand, sand, paint. No other option will be accepted.

Or, as many of us have done, stand with bike frame in hand at the nail polish counter of your local superdrug/boots/other store of similar nature and select the appropriate match. Then slap it on and hope for the best.

The image of standing in boots with a frame in hand genuinely made me chuckle.

But point taken, the old ways seem to be the best ways.

Thanks for your input Novocaine.

Right so got back home, and as promised took some more pictures.

As you can see, the rack is bolts are supposed to be there. Good news for me.

I noticed that the front and rear breaks are different. But I'm happy with the performance so they'll stay like that.

Just ordering some new bits to replace the wear and tear items. So keep an eye out for a new thread cataloguing the clean up and refresh.

Thanks

Best of luck with this @Singhsan, you are now on a slippery slope. Just done one of these myself… Hopefully the rack mounts should be clear in these pics.

Dude your bike looks amazing... Really gets me motivated 😉

What brakes have you got, I may have one in the parts bin/karma to help your build

I'm not too Sure of the rears, branded as Shimano, but don't see any model numbers/names and the fronts are dia compe vc727 (which I understand are what the bike came with from factory). Feel free to have a look in post number 26 for pictures, can take clearer ones.

But to be honest I'm not overly fussed so there's no real need to go through any trouble.

Thanks
